Tips to have the most successful photoshoot based on your frequently asked questions.
What should I wear?
Wear clothing that you feel good in. As the classic phrase goes, when you feel good, you look good. Solid clothing and neutrals easily pair with a variety of backgrounds. Based on what you wear, I will select photo locations that work well with your look and vibe. If you are being photographed with other people, it’s nice to coordinate, but no need to match.
What will my final photos look like?
I tailor each photoshoot to my clients specific needs. I typically photograph in natural light and capture authentic moments. If you are looking for something specific, share your vision with me! Please send any pictures in my portfolio or online that you like the look or style of, so we can bring it to your photo session.
What do I do with my hands?
If you are being photographed with your partner, ideas can include:
Hold each other's hand.
Go for a huge hug.
Drape a hand over the other’s shoulder.
When sitting, rest your hand on their leg
Put your hand on the small of their back.
On their waist
If you are being photographed with your family, ideas can include:
• Engage with your little one, tickle their feet, gently raise them in the air, hold their hands and do a big jump
• Hold you partners hand while your child runs in front
• Cradle your child in your arms
If you are being photographed solo, ideas can include:
• Hand in a pocket
• Gesture putting your hair behind your ear
• Sit and rest your hands in your lap or next to you
• Engage with something in your environment
• Cross your arms
• Relax your arms by your sides
•Touch your clothes (swish your dress, straighten your shirt cuffs)
